Germany at Last

We made it!

After the QANTAS flight being 2 hours late into Frankfurt, we finally found our way around Frankfurt airport and got ourselves on another flight (which we were apparently already booked on). Spend another 2 hours wandering around Frankfurt, but the flight to Berlin was only 40 minutes.

Simon met us at Berlin airport and took us on the bus/train back to their appartment (where we are staying too). We are now at the local internet cafe where the boys are buying fireworks - they are legal until the 3rd of Jan over new years eve.

Looking foward to a good night sleep because the flight from Singapore to Frankfurt was shocking. Jeni is also freezing because it is only 3 degrees here at the moment.

Singapore

Hey everyone,

Jeni and I have arrived in Singapore for a 3 (but 4 due to delays) hour change over at Changi airport. I am using the slow (but free) public internet terminals littered all over the terminal. Jeni and I spent about an hour walking from one end of Terminal 1 all the way to the end of Terminal 2 - this place is much bigger than I remember from last time I was here.

We still have the overnight flight to Frankfurt and then the changeover to Berlin. Jeni is buggered already and I can't say I blame her. Thank god for the on-demand inflight entertainment tho, it made the flight here that little bit more enjoyable. Hopefully we will just sleep for the next few hours en-route.

So yes, we are still alive and will update next hopefully from Berlin.

In the spirit of Xmas

About time I sat down to write another blog entry. A fair bit has happened in the past few weeks, an it will be good to write a blog entry that actually has some content (after half a dozen failed attempts of creating blog entries in Picasa).

Firstly, Xmas (not Christmas) is tomorrow. Doing the usual family present unwrapping etc and lunch. More importantly however, only 5 sleeps until we head overseas. I can't wait! Still have to pack, get travel money organised, as well as other odds and ends to tie up before I leave.

Last night was my last night at Strike. Besides the fact that 3 lanes snapped important parts (sweep on Lane 1 and cushion on Lanes 5 and 7) it was a good night. Very relaxed, and heaps of Strike people made the effort to come in and have a few drinks. The party continued into the morning at Union Jacks and Sunbar.

It was also my last week at CSIRO this week. Last day at QCAT was Monday, and I attended the going-away lunch for Michael which turned into xmas drinks at the Kenmore Tavern.

I will finish this post off with my first photo of hopefully many to come. It is a photo of me taken by Dad at King's Canyon in the Australian outback.

Test message from phone!

I am sending this message from Strike to test the email from my phone. I don't think the attachment will work but we will soon see.

Blog via Email?

This is just a quick test to check that I can post to my blog via email. This will definately kick-ass while I am travelling - being able to update my blog via my phone. Can't wait for Europe!

My new Blog

After lots of umm-ing and arhh-ing I have finally got off my arse and made myself a blog. After waking up to myself that writing my own software would be next to impossible in time for the big Europe holiday, I started looking around at all the blog sites. MySpace seems like a complete waste of time, as does the MSN version. Blogger sold me with email updates, and the ability to host on my own webserver!

Looking forward to ranting and raving on me own little piece of the trendy blog pie!
